Colorado's Most Successful Youth Rowing Program
Our goal at Mile High is to promote and encourage the growth and development of rowing through quality instruction and training programs for metro Denver youth, ages 13-18.
We Are Mile High!
Founding coaches Grace Malacrida and Kati O'Hara, along with the help of parent volunteers, started Mile High Rowing Club on February 20, 2009. Their goal was to create a team dedicated to the development of young athletes and expand rowing in Colorado.
Every year since our founding, MHRC has qualified boats for US Rowing's Youth National Championships in all boat classes, with several podium appearances. Although we have very limited time on the water due to Colorado's variable seasons and unpredictable weather, our hard work continues to pay off and keeps us competitive with teams across the United States.
From humble beginnings with a handful of old rowing shells on Cherry Creek Reservoir, the team has evolved and grown to have a fleet of shells and other training equipment that can accommodate our unique position as a rowing team in central Colorado.
We are sustained by the dedication of our athletes, coaches, and parent volunteers.
Over 100 Mile High athletes, male and female, have gone on to row at over 60 different collegiate club and varsity DI, DII, & DIII programs.
We have also trained many athletes who have gone one to compete on the US National Teams across the U19, U23, and senior teams.
The Mile High Rowing community is proud to support our first Olympian, Kendal Chase, as she represented the United States at the 2020 Olympics, rowing in the women's four.
